5 Tips to Being More Present on Your Wedding Day

1. Skip the wedding countdown. Don't let the anticipation steal the joy from all the days before the big one. Remember that you're in a special season already... you're engaged!  Enjoy that and make sure to celebrate what every day brings you!

2. Give yourself extra time while creating your wedding day timeline. It's good to enjoy each moment instead of feeling the stress of being rushed to the next "thing." Make a time with your photographer to create a timeline that has room for set backs and delays (because they will happen!) and most importantly..time for you as a couple!

3. Practice Gratitude. All of these family members and friends are here to celebrate you! Take time to appreciate all the ways you've been blessed and supported throughout your lives; your engagement and, especially, on your big day. Everyone there from the oldest acquaintances to the newest of friends showed up to celebrate you. What a great time to be thankful and show your appreciation.

4. Include God in your day. I feel like for Christians this is a total given but it's so easy to get caught up in all the busyness and the rush of everything that you're not including God in the most special day of your life except for the short prayer during the service and before dinner. Pray with your husband, pray for each other during your first look, start your morning off with a prayer over your day. What a special gift marriage is from God.

5. If you carefully considered your vendors than make sure you're putting complete trust in them the day of. You chose them to be apart of your day for a reason so trust in that! They are there to serve you!

There you have it. I could list lots more but I think these 5 are pretty good start. What about you?! How were you mindful of being present on your wedding day?
